About Uedu Calculus

Link senior secondary mathematics and university calculus into one continuous learning pathway.

Location

Yodo Calculus is the calculus knowledge reader under Uedu interdisciplinary general education, deliberately spanning senior secondary mathematics and university Calculus I/II. It is designed especially for students taking summer-term / repeat Calculus. The same concept is first built up intuitively with numerical tables and graphs, then extended to formal definitions and computation, so the transition is no longer fragmented.

Scope

The classification aligns with the seventeen chapters of the Calculus notes, and is divided into four thematic groups: single-variable differentiation (preliminary knowledge, limits, derivatives, applications of derivatives), single-variable integration (integration, applications of integration (1), integration techniques, applications of integration (2)), differential equations, parametric equations and series (differential equations (first order), parametric equations and polar coordinates, series), and multivariable and vector calculus (vectors, vector-valued functions, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, vector calculus, differential equations (second order)). The reading materials will be expanded continuously by chapter.

Visible Calculus

The hardest part of calculus is often that it feels "too abstract" — derivatives, integrals and differential equations are all symbols on paper. This reader links each concept back to the interactive simulations in Uedu Science Lab: differentiating position with respect to time gives the velocity of a projectile, integrating current with respect to time gives the charge accumulated by a capacitor, and a first-order differential equation is radioactive decay. Once you have understood the concept, go straight into the simulation to adjust the parameters yourself and turn intuition into experience.

Content governance: mathematics checked and approved by humans

The mathematical content of this reader (definitions, theorems, derivations, formulae) uses a manual vetting system: each article carries a vetting flag, and drafts that have not been manually vetted are not published; every formula in the text is cross-validated with sympy before vetting.
